right now, that bird is being eulogised at bird memorial services all over the world. Bird leaders have signed books of condolences.
i think you need a bit of perspective....if some other alien race sent some craft down here and splattered one of us over its windscreen by mistake it'd be a big deal - you can't just diss the bird community and its sorrows just like that
